Supporting Young Talent Behind the Scenes
Your Partner in Child Labor Compliance & Production Support
New SAG-AFTRA rules, evolving state child labor laws, and compliance requirements make experienced guidance essential for productions working with minors. Teachers on Set provides consulting, permitting, and staffing support for film, television, commercial, and entertainment productions, helping teams stay compliant, protect young performers, and keep production on track.
We connect productions with experienced Set Teachers, Child Welfare Advocates, and Set Nurses to support children’s education, welfare, and care on set while helping production teams meet their responsibilities.
From early planning through production, we help teams navigate state child labor laws and SAG-AFTRA requirements, including minor scheduling, schooling, work hours, permits, and welfare needs.

Built on Real On-Set Experience
Teachers on Set was founded by Theresa Parilo Lanfranchi after 14+ years as a California-credentialed, multi-subject studio teacher supporting young performers on projects of all sizes—from major feature films and television productions to independent films, commercials, music tours, and photo shoots. After welcoming her baby, Theresa wanted to take her career in a new direction while creating a way for more productions to benefit from her experience.
Her passion for keeping children safe and helping productions stay compliant is at the heart of Teachers on Set. Approachable and easy to reach, Theresa is someone production teams can call at any time of day to ask questions and get clear guidance on understanding and following applicable requirements. Her practical, production-friendly approach keeps production moving while keeping young performers’ safety and well-being at the forefront.
Theresa’s on-set experience spans feature films, network and streaming series, commercials, late-night television including The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and live events such as the FIFA World Cup halftime show at MetLife Stadium and the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
